How to prepare South Africa Pap en vleis

Pap en vleis a popular South African meal. Pap en vleis means porridge and meat. The meat is been barbecued, and the pap is porridge. The pap is made from cornmeal. Pap en vleis
Ingredients and requirements for the vleis
1.Chopped 1½ onions
2.800gram of freshly killed meat
3.⅓ or½ teaspoon of salt
4.½ teaspoon of grounded or pounded ginger.
5.½ teaspoon of chili powder
6.½ teaspoon of red pepper
7.groundnut or olive oil
8.frypan
9.chopped 3 big-sized ripe red tomatoes , carrot .
10.Dried parsley leaves
Direction
Heat the saucepan. Pour 300ml olive oil or groundnut oil inside the saucepan. Share the onion and the ginger into two. Add the chopped onion and the ginger immediately after the oil has been heated and fry for 70 seconds. Sprinkle chili powder to red redden the ginger and the pepper. After sprinkling the chili powder, add red or black pepper then stir regularly. Add ½ teaspoon of salt ½ dried parsley leaves then stir for some time. Add tomatoes once it starts to simmer and the steam is more conspicuous than stir. the sauce should be allowed to heat to 15 minutes. Then start to stir and mash the tomatoes. sprinkle some chili powder and continue to stir. After 15 to 20 minutes turn off your heater.
Direction for preparing Vleis
Heat the frying pan then pour olive oil into the frying pan. Add the remaining onions and ginger then stir-fry for 30 seconds .higher the burner place the meat in the center of the frying pan. Some meat will be at top of meats. Let the bottom pieces cook then spread the remaining around the frying pan. stir the meat regularly, so none of it burns. After some time, the water in the meat will cover the bottom of the frying pan. let the water bool and continue to stir and sprinkle chili powder .once the water has dried, and the bottom of the pan is dark brown from the spices and the heat, you should now add meat to the sauce .stir it so it can mix up well and keep under low heat simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally .turn of your cooker .leave it on the cooker so that residual heat will keep it warm.
Ingredients for the .paper
700ml of water
½ sugar or horny
A large spoon cornmeal meal.
Direction:
Pour the 700ml of water into a pot and put it on heat. Add salt, cover the pot , leave the water to boil. Add the cornmeal gradually and stir continuously .stir thoroughly to avoid lumps. Keep on stirring until it becomes a thick mixture. Allow to simmer for 29 minutes.
Pap en vleis is ready to be served.
